Jack Mender was one of the first people to appear on the Odyssey of Hope. He and five others woke in a space station that seemed all but abandoned. Jack woke confused and lost, unaware where he was with the only knowledge to him was his name and title as an ODST. It was also discovered that his VISR (Visual Intelligence System, Reconnaissance) was damaged during interdimensional travel leaving the ODST with no record or information on anything to do with his world.
